Privacy policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

What you scan stays on your phone. VibeQR has no user accounts and no servers of its own: the codes you read, the ones you create and your history are processed and stored only on your device.

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, and Google does collect some data from your device to serve them. Section 4 explains exactly what. VibeQR Pro shows no ads.

If this English version and the Spanish version ever differ, the Spanish version prevails.

1. Who is responsible

MARMOLEJO SALINAS JESUS SALVADOR, who publishes on Google Play under the developer name MARMOLEJO, located at FC Central 1, colonia Hogares Ferrocarrileros, C.P. 02540, Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico, is responsible for this app and this policy.

For any privacy matter — questions, exercising your rights, or reporting a problem — write to jesusmarmolejos90@gmail.com.

2. What VibeQR does on your phone

Camera

The camera is used only while you are on the scan screen. Each frame is analyzed on the spot, on the phone, to find codes; no photos or video are saved, and no image leaves the device. The camera turns off as soon as you leave that screen.

Images you choose

If you use “Scan from image”, VibeQR reads the image you pick once to look for codes. It does not copy or upload it.

History

Codes you scan or create are stored in a database inside the app, on your phone. You can delete each one, clear the whole history, or turn history off entirely in Settings. If you use “Export to CSV”, the file is saved only where you choose.

Codes you generate and logos

QR codes you create, and any logo you add in the Pro version, are processed on the phone. They are saved to your gallery or shared only when you ask. The logo is not kept: it is forgotten when the app closes.

Clipboard

VibeQR copies to the clipboard only when you tap “Copy” or if you turn on “Copy automatically” in Settings. Wi-Fi passwords are marked as sensitive so Android doesn’t show them in the clipboard preview.

Actions on a code

When you open a link, join a Wi-Fi network, save a contact or create an event, VibeQR hands that information to the matching app (your browser, Wi-Fi settings, Contacts or Calendar). What happens next depends on that app.

The “suspicious link” warning is computed on your phone by checking the shape of the address. The link is not sent to any service to be checked.

3. Android backup

If Android’s automatic backup is on, the system may include your VibeQR history and settings in your Google account backup, with the same protections as the rest of your backups. Android manages this, not VibeQR, and you can turn it off in system settings.

4. Advertising (free version)

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, a Google LLC service. To serve and measure ads, Google’s SDK collects from your device:

On supported phones, Google may also use Android’s privacy-preserving advertising features (Privacy Sandbox), such as Topics and attribution reporting.

Consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or a US state whose privacy laws require it, the app shows Google’s consent form before requesting ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy options.

Google handles this data under its own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

With VibeQR Pro the app stops requesting ads.

Cookies and identifiers

This page does not use cookies or load anything from third parties. VibeQR does not use cookies of its own either: it has no accounts, and links open in your browser, not inside the app. As far as the ads in the free version go, this is the only thing stored or read on your phone, and all of it belongs to Google:

How long Google keeps what it receives is described on its data retention page, and how it uses cookies in How Google uses cookies. We only see totals —how many ads were shown—, nothing that identifies anyone.

Your consent. Ads are not needed for VibeQR to work: they are how the free version stays free. By using it after reading this notice you accept this use for ads, and you can withdraw it at any time: by resetting or deleting your advertising ID in Android settings, by changing your choice in Settings → Ad privacy options if you are shown it, or with VibeQR Pro, which shows no ads.

5. Purchases (VibeQR Pro)

Purchases go through Google Play. VibeQR never receives your card or payment details. Google Play only confirms to the app that the purchase exists, and the app remembers on your phone whether you have Pro so it doesn’t show ads while you are offline. Payment data is handled by Google under its privacy policy.

6. Google services inside the app

Code reading uses Google’s ML Kit, which runs entirely on the phone: neither images nor the content of codes are sent to Google. As ML Kit’s documentation states, its components may send Google performance and usage metrics (for example, the device model and how long a scan takes) to maintain and improve the service.

7. Permissions the app requests

8. What VibeQR does not do

9. Children

VibeQR is not directed at children under 13.

10. Your rights

Because VibeQR keeps no data about you on servers of its own, what the app knows about you is on your phone and under your control: you can clear the history in the app or delete all its data by uninstalling it. For data Google collects for advertising, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android and use Google’s tools at myaccount.google.com.

To exercise your rights of access, rectification, deletion or objection, or for any other request, write to jesusmarmolejos90@gmail.com.

11. Changes to this policy

If what the app does with your data changes, we will update this page and its date before releasing the version that introduces the change.
